Behaviour Policy

Our philosophy on behaviour is based on a few rules:

  • Respect and understanding of each other's needs
  • Sharing, turn taking and helping one another at all times
  • Resolution of any problems

Inappropriate behaviour is quickly dealt with as unacceptable.

Positive reinforcement, discussion, and some 'time-out' away from the situation resolves.

Staff are trained to work and react as a team should any difficulties arise.

Parents are fully informed on any action taken.

Equal Opportunities Policy

All children are welcome at Snap! nurseries.

We do not endeavour to treat everyone in exactly the same way, but strive to ensure that we offer the same opportunities to each individual and tailor our environment and curriculum appropriately.

Appropriate advice and cooperation with parents/carers and involved agencies are fully encouraged and actively sought.

Staff are offered training and development opportunities to facilitate recognition of individual's special needs and act appropriately.

Health and Safety Policy

Snap! has regular inspections from the Health and Safety authority and undertakes regular risk assessment of premises, equipment and procedures.

First Aid equipment and an Accident Book are held in clearly marked areas on the premises. Any accidents are recorded, details of action taken and the time and place of the accident are noted and signed by a member of staff. Parents are shown the record and asked to sign when the book is read.

All Fire Prevention equipment is regularly serviced by a fully qualified Fire Officer. Fire drills take place every term.

All equipment used - toilet facilities, play areas, kitchen area etc. - fully comply with the regulations that are passed by the Health and Safety Authority, Social Services and the Fire Officer.

When a child is registered, parents/carers are required to sign (on our application form) an agreement for their child to be taken out on local outings.

The schools are fully insured.
